Instructional design for
online learning
Instructional design for online learning is a moderate approach
which is not appropriate to ADDLE and Dick Carey's model in learning for used
online learning approach .this model refers that With
the increasing use of instructional designers for eLearning activities within
institutions of higher education, it is important we learn as much as possible
about designing and developing effective instructional design across the
disciplines. In other way which is pre- determined objective verses learner determined objectives did not fitted in learning methods
at that situation we used online learning methods in learning activities .this
model have dividing four phases : analysis , design , development and evaluation.
Some of benefits of instructional design for online learning
Ø "Distance learning courses are
likely to fail if they are delivered as if they were traditional courses."
(Smith, 1996)
Ø "Pedagogy must drive the choice of
instructional technology, not the other way around." (Chizmar &
Walbert, 1999)
Ø It Provides consistency between various
courses developed by various instructors/designers.
Ø The general look and process of
content exploration is standardized.
Ø Its focuses on the most effective way
to present content.
Ø Its begins with the learner and the
learner experience.
Ø Quality of course is ensured through
ID - covers all the phases of good development.
Ø Its gives structure to the student's
process of working through course material.
